In 2011, we worked closely with 50 central Iowa corn producers, harvest service experts, equipment manufacturers, and Iowa State University to conduct comprehensive research analyzing the collection, transport and storage of this new source of biomass.
The collaboration has already documented several corn production and residue management advantages resulting from a directed partial stover harvest. Additionally, long-term field trials have been initiated to further verify and monitor the results of this innovative program.
Since 2011, DuPont and Pioneer Hi-Bred International, a DuPont business, have researched and commenced a commercial feedstock harvest program with local producers to validate our research findings and begin inventorying feedstock for future plant operations.
DuPont and Pioneer are devoted to working with producers to create value across the biomass supply chain. Our shared vision is to provide sustainable solutions to the evolving advanced biofuels market, while creating new opportunities for rural America.
We now are contracting with growers in the vicinity surrounding our commercial scale facility to begin inventorying feedstock for future plant operations. If you are a corn producer in the greater Nevada, IA area, click here to learn move about this exciting opportunity!
